The atmosphere on the Lido of Venice is about to change. The beaches take on an elegant charm, terraces fill with conversations in many languages, and in front of the Palazzo del Cinema, camera flashes and evening gowns begin to appear. It’s the sign that the Venice International Film Festival is back: from August 27 to September 6, 2025, the Lido once again becomes the world capital of cinema.
For film lovers, this is the most anticipated time of the year. But even for those who simply want to soak up some glamour, culture, and beauty, the Film Festival is an unmissable experience.
An Edition Not to Be Missed
This year’s opening film is La grazia, the new work by Paolo Sorrentino, starring Toni Servillo and Anna Ferzetti. An intense, poetic film that promises to leave a mark and will kick off ten days of screenings, red carpets, and unforgettable encounters.
The program is rich and international: among the most awaited titles are Frankenstein by Guillermo del Toro, Bugonia by Yorgos Lanthimos, After the Hunt by Luca Guadagnino, along with new works by beloved directors such as Jim Jarmusch, Kathryn Bigelow, Noah Baumbach, and many more.
The red carpet will also be dazzling, with expected appearances by Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett, Adam Driver, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney.
The Lido Between Art and Relaxation
Experiencing the Festival on the Lido is truly unique. During the day, you can relax on the beach, cycle along the island, or enjoy a sunset over the lagoon with a spectacular view of the Bacino di San Marco. In the evening, the atmosphere becomes more vibrant: premieres, cocktails, exclusive dinners, and that special excitement only major events can offer.
And right here, just steps away from the heart of the Festival, is Russo Palace Hotel: the perfect base for those who want to experience the charm of the Film Festival with comfort and style.
