If you want to discover Venice through the eyes of its locals, the markets of the Lido are the perfect starting point. Every week, the island hosts two markets offering an authentic experience full of local colors and flavors.
Tuesday: The Weekly Lido Market
Every Tuesday, from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Riviera di Corinto transforms into a lively open-air market. With about ninety stalls, this market is a must-visit—and almost an institution—for residents of the Lido and Venice. Here you’ll find a variety of products: clothing, fabrics, curtains, household items, fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, cured meats, and much more. It’s the perfect place to dive into the island’s daily life, discover local products, and interact with vendors and locals. Plus, the market overlooks a beautiful view of the lagoon, making the experience even more unique and evocative.
Friday: The Coldiretti Market
Every Friday, from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM, also at Riva di Corinto, the Coldiretti market takes place. This market brings together local farmers offering fresh, genuine products. You can buy seasonal fruits and vegetables from the green islands of the Lagoon, cheeses, cured meats, honey, wine, flowers, plants, and other typical regional specialties. It’s the perfect chance to take home an authentic piece of the Lido and the Venetian Lagoon, again enjoying the stunning view of the water and the San Marco Basin skyline.
If you’re staying at Russo Palace Hotel, the Lido markets are easily reachable by bus or a short bike ride. We recommend visiting them to live an authentic experience and discover the island’s flavors and colors, immersed in a unique and enchanting natural setting.
